Garden Makeover Ideas

It’s that time of year again when I look out of my kitchen window and realise I have some work to do if I want to relax when the sun comes out. Here are a few ideas that I’m planning to do to my garden this year.

Focal Point

Don’t overfill your Garden. Declutter and design a focal point to draw the eye. Its great to create a flow to your outdoor space but if you make it too busy you can’t really take it in. There are lots of options to choose from. Garden orbs are on trend this year and I love this design with different size orbs with Buxus balls and flowers –

Light It Up

Nothing looks prettier than a Garden lit up at night. You don’t have to light up the whole space, you can highlight areas of interest with foliage. Spotlights on potted plants can look very stylish and easy to achieve with solar power spike lights.

Cut It Out

Fed up with your grass looking shapeless and boring? Why not cut it into a shape to make it look more interesting? We love a circular pattern and it’s easier than you think to achieve as long as you take the time to make sure the shape is right.

Simplify

When planning your garden makeover, create bedding areas that aren’t overcrowded so you can see the beautiful plants you have chosen. If you are not a keen gardener choose long living plants that don’t need too much work. Choose a single colour or colours that work well together rather than having lots of mixed colours that can sometimes overpower the area. Alternatively, use large pots as a border. I love this flower bed design.

Fill It In

Do you have areas of your garden that look unfinished? Fill them with stones. There are several shapes and colours you can choose and it will make your garden look neater.

Relax, Unwind, Enjoy

Now the hard part of your garden makeover is out of the way you need to decide how you want to enjoy your garden. You’re going to need some garden furniture. Decide if you want to be able to dine, lounge or both.

There are so many options to choose from. I have a small garden so I opted for a corner sofa with a dining table which was by far one of my best purchases to date.
